Mushy: Lyrically Speaking, a heart-warming and uplifting story first seen in Watford back in September 2019, is now being streamed online on Rifco Theatre Company’s website and Vimeo page for free for the next two months as part of a programme of work from Rifco Digital and Palace at Home.
Based on the true story of Educating Yorkshire’s Musharaf Asghar who captured the hearts of the nation when he rose to fame overnight, overcoming his severe stammer with the help of his inspirational teacher Mr Burton.
Written by Pravesh Kumar, infused with rap and lyrical narration by rapper Raxstar and directed by Ameet Chana, this production was co-produced by Rifco Theatre Company and Watford Palace Theatre.
‘It is touchingly told with what seems absolute honesty; sometimes tongue in cheek and always theatrically engaging.’
The British Theatre Guide
‘Heart-warming and inspiring… A must-see production!’
